Welcome to
the Midd-West School District website. Midd-West School District
covers 45 square miles which is approximately one half of Snyder County.
MWSD, a district of 2300 students, operates three elementary schools,
two middle schools and one 9-12 high school. Middleburg Middle
School is a new/5-year old school, and West Snyder Middle School which
was originally a high school building has ample room and facilities not

MWSD 2010 Spelling Bee
Results...
Congratulations to the 2010 MMS Spelling Bee participants:
6th graders
Brittani Hayes, Karli Arbogast, Aaron Sharp, Jessica Jones, Dakota
Kelley, Hunter Jordan; 7th graders: Jessica Kratzer,
Austin Landis, Ascher Marks, Nicholas Schmoyer; and 8th
graders: Drew Kreamer, Laura Steininger, DeShawn Showell, and Tony
Rice. WSMS Spelling Bee participants:
6th graders
Cassie Oldt, Selina Perez, and Carlie Lepley 7th graders:
Tessa Bonson, Jackie Weyant, Samantha Klinger and Claudia Kuhns; and
8th graders: Kacie Bogar, Keegan Klase, and Jacob Shaffer
All spellers did a great job! Special recognition goes to Karli
Arbogast who earned the first place trophy in the 6th
grade round as well as the District Championship plaque. Way to go
Karli! Other trophy winners included Selina Perez,
second place trophy in the 6th grade round;
Hunter Jordan, third place trophy in the 6th grade round;
Jackie Weyant who earned the
first place trophy in the 7th Grade round;
Austin Landis, second place trophy in the 7th grade
round, Nick Schmoyer, third place trophy in the 7th
grade round; DeShawn Showell, first place trophy in the 8th
grade round; Drew Kreamer second place trophy in the 8th
grade round; and Keegan Klace, third place trophy in the
8th grade round.
Student to Participate in Region Chorus!
Congratulations to Kimberly
Hetrick for advancing to the Region IV Chorus! This past weekend,
Kimberly competed directly against some of the best soprano’s from
across a 9 county area and took 2nd place. In total, 175
students competed this past weekend at the festival, which was hosted by
the Montgomery Area School District and the Community Arts Center. She
will be traveling in March to Tunkhannock Area High School to audition
for the opportunity to participate in All-State Chorus. Keep up the
great work!

Mustang Duffel Bags For Sale!
Bags are black with gray and are available in two different sizes (small
size: 19" x 12" x 12" and large size: 23" x 15.5" x 14.75") Small duffel
bags are $30 and large duffel bags are $35. The price includes a blue
embroidered logo as shown on the
order form. Bags
can be personalized for $5 extra. Both sizes come with a D-shape opening
and a 2-way zipper. They are loaded with zippered pockets, have sturdy web
handles and a PVC bottom for durability and water resistance. Padded
shoulder straps are detachable and adjustable. There is a separate shoe/wet
pocket on the side that extends into the bag with outside mesh inserts on
the pocket opening for ventilation. Please send orders to
